#Fallout 4 creation workshop update#
On November 20, 2019, after an earlier announcement and in-game countdown, there was a large update to Creation Club on Steam bringing the Capital Wasteland Mercenaries, CR-74L Combat Rifle, Gunners vs. Bethesda acknowledged the problem and have been looking into a fix.

Īs noticed by many players, the Creation Club would automatically download all Creation Club content before a purchase was made depositing the files within their Fallout 4 game folder and using hard drive space. Similar criticisms were leveraged against Creation Club content being "paid mods", however, Bethesda disputed claims of such and espoused the content released through Creation Club would be officially supplementary content that had been supported financially by Bethesda itself. Similar to the Steam Workshop paid content, the Creation Club would allow content creators to sell their work for Bethesda games. ĭuring E3 2017, Bethesda announced the Creation Club. In no small part to the overwhelming negative backlash, Valve backed out and pulled support for paid Steam Workshop content a short time after its announcement. 130,000 people signed a petition calling for Valve to remove paid mods.

However, fans and modders alike reacted negatively to the announcement with many complaints leveraged against content creators only receiving 25% of the total profits and even more against the concept of paying for mods in general. In spring 2015, Bethesda and Valve partnered to sell Steam Workshop content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and later on all Creation Engine games. Creation Club content is fully curated and compatible with the main game and official add-ons, meaning using Creation Club content won't disable achievements. It features new items, abilities, and gameplay created by Bethesda Game Studios and outside development partners including community creators. I literally just found out about it today.Creation Club is a collection of all-new content for Fallout 4 as well as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. And I didn't know there was free stuff on it.

I was mostly looking at the backpack mod on CC more than anything. Right now I think I'll throw some cash at the guy who made the Bean Town Interiors mod and one of the modders who did the last graphics overhaul I installed last nigh because it improved the look of the game about 100%. I've flipped a few bucks to a couple of mods on Nexus. Oh, should say, the featured rotation changes on thursdays, it's worth just looking to see whats free on the list. Anyway, if you wanna support the modders directly, find them on nexus and give them a direct donation over supporting bethesdas paid mods two atomic shop boogaloo. It adds 15 different packs with varied mods and carry weights. That said, I do have a preference to Backpacks of the Commonwealth. There are backpack mods on the nexus, and while some are nice, the one on the cc was made by fadingsignal (Who also made the donut pack and a few others) and they're excellent.

I got a lot of them for free now, though most of the time it's another crappy pipboy recolor or something that doesn't add anything to the game. The donut pack is nice, and I like the holiday decor stuff, but I'd keep an eye on the featured rotation and wait for freebies over paying for any of them. Originally posted by Man Fighting a Shark in a Speedo:The Zeta pack'd be better if the alien ammo wasn't so limited. I saw some backpack mods on Nexus but I'm not sure they're going to be as cool as the ones on the Creation Club look.Īnyway I know there's going to be a lot of opinion about the Creation Club in general (I was one of the people who was pretty upset when Bethesda and Valve tried charging for mods a few years back) but I'm just looking for opinions on the content since I know nothing about CC. Anyway I did some research and while it seems like a cross between "Shady Paid Mods BS" and "Stupid" I did notice a few things that actually looked pretty cool: A modable backpack and a Gauss Rifle.

I bought the Season Pass during a sale) and noticed more about the "Creation Club" thing. Well, I'm bored at work today so I went to the Fallout 4 Steam Store page to see if I have all the DLC (I do. I noticed something in the games menu called "Creation Club" but didn't pay it much attention. I replaced my old Nexus Mod Manager with Vortex, updated the dozen or so mods I had downloaded a couple of years ago but never got around to trying, downloaded about a dozen more mods that top a lot of "Best Fallout 4 Mods" lists and fired up a new character. So I haven't really played Fallout 4 since it first came out but I decided to go for a third play through using a bunch of mods.
